I could understand this argument if they had the same record, but they don’t.

There is always a subjective element. If Troy had went undefeated and won the conference, that would not by default mean they should be in the top 4 over a 1 loss team with a clearly better resume. That Florida state team I watched last night shouldn’t be ranked top 10, much less top 4.

That shouldn’t even be a factor. That’s next year.

They executed this year to perfection. Won every game versus top 25 that was on their schedule. 3-0.

Bama was 4-1 against top 25, including loss against fellow playoff team. They had their shot at proving themselves against one of the best and didn’t win.
