Thread: What Teams get left out of the Playoffs?

Wouldn’t Texas’ win over Bama be better than Bama’s win over Georgia now?

Head to head should matter. Texas should get in.

For the NY6, SMU over Liberty. The Flames went undefeated, which is hard to do, but did it against no one special. We know that winning a bunch of games in a row and a championship don’t automatically get you special placement. Liberty should play TXST.

Personally I think Michigan, Ohio state, Texas, Alabama, and Georgia are the best teams. But Washington and fsu earned a spot.

    1 Michigan
    2 wash
    3 Texas
    4 FSU

This is what I think they’ll do, and they want a mich vs Texas final.
I don’t know if they want that final, although I think it would be a good one. I do think they DON’T want another Georgia/Bama matchup. Time for a fresh matchup.

To me, Texas doesn’t have the resume. Yes, they beat Bama, but it was earlier in the season. Bama has the signature win in CFB this year and played a much more difficult schedule than Texas. Also, no way the SEC Champ with a victory over #1 gets left out.
I think these four get in. With FSU on the outside looking in.
Bama lost a non-conference game to one of the best teams in the country. If being undefeated means more than playing the best non-conference games you can play, why would anyone schedule tough non-conference games.

Alabama did beat Georgia yesterday, but what about their miracle, last second win over an awful Auburn team. Seems like that should count against them.

Had a Georgia fan actually say to me on Friday that there is bias AGAINST the SEC.

It would be really interesting and a little satisfying to see them left out. Somehow, I think they get a team in though. All the bias against them and stuff.

Texas has some snoozers in there too. And there is precedent for discounting early season big wins.

Idk, I just don’t see SECESPN being left out of the playoff.

Then you leave out Florida State.

    Michigan
    Washington
    Texas
    Alabama

Having said that, I have no idea what the committee will do. I just think if they are gonna put the sec champ in then they have to put Texas in. That makes fsu the odd man out especially with their QB situation. If ever there was a year for a 12 team playoff it would be this year. It would be an epic month of football.

If FSU doesn't get in, it would be the first time ever that an undefeated P5 conference champion is left out. Their QB situation shouldn't diminish their season.

I don’t disagree. I’m just trying to think how the committee would think. It’s such a crapshoot. This is another reason why college football is flawed.

This is a hard one. But they keeping saying “the best four teams.” If you watched Florida St against Florida, they were not a top 4 team.

If you watched them last night against Louisville, their offense was an absolute disgrace. If their #1 QB is healthy, they probably win those 2 games easily.

But while it’s harsh, it’s supposed to be the best four teams. Florida State clearly isn’t one of them right now.

I think Michigan, Washington, Alabama and Texas.

    It’s chaos for sure.

I just don’t see a way you can leave out FSU. Can’t penalize a football team for an injury and the season has to matter. So does a conference championship.

Norvell beat a top 15 team with a 3rd string true freshmen QB. Definition of a team win.

And you can’t penalize Texas for beating bama. If you put bama in then Texas is in. Texas is in regardless. It comes down to fsu and bama.
