I know it will never happen but it’s only fair way. I mean every other sport in college has a fair system why not football.
I look at it like this if the top 10 seeded teams which would be out of the BCS conference want to complain about sos etc. well then they shouldn’t have a problem with beating a lowly G5 school.
Also all it is, is giving a chance for anyone to be able to compete for a National Championship.
Just like Baseball when Coastal Carolina won in baseball or Loyola Chicago went to the sweet 16.
All I want is a chance to compete for a National Title.
It would make conference championships more important then it already is.
If you dont win your conference then why should you compete for a National Title.
Few things that don't make sense when it comes to the committee.
-They moved FSU up to 4 after beating Florida with backup QB. Then dropped them to 5 after beating #15 Louisville with 3rd string QB in the rain. All while knowing QB that beat Florida would be back in time for playoff games.
-Their ranking system is highly questionable in my opinion. They rank all the teams to get seeds 1-3. Then they RERANK the rest of the teams to get the 4 seed. If they think is good enough to rank them 4 while comparing all teams, why do they redo everything after taking the top 3 out?
The winner of the Georgia/Florida State Orange Bowl will have just as much of a right to claim a National Championship as the winner of this invitational tourney will have.
From the days of the Polls deciding, to the BCS, to the CFP, the "National Championship" has always been mythical.
Florida state should decline saying the committee told them playing S-E-C teams is weak scheduling and hurts their brand, and ask to swap with UL and go to nola bowl instead.
Plus cite they don't want the extra playing time a late bowl allows for risk of more injuries
