Our record has nothing to do with who the best g5 is this year.

The irony in Strength of Schedule is you can create your own and often overlooked, develop your own.

If Liberty has an zero win season they would possibly have a top-100 SoS.

If Louisiana had had a perfect season this year the SoS may be close to worst in the country.

Its as simple as Louisiana opponents having 6 more losses and Liberty opponents having 12 more wins.

Basically, all I was trying to do was simply state the National championship is and has always been subjective. There has never been a true national champion. And until there is an all inclusive Div.1 playoff system, there will never be a true national champion.

P5's want to play the G5's during the regular season, yet not include them for a chance to play for a national championship. All bowl games should be eliminated and have a true playoff system. Basketball has it, baseball has it, ....tiddlie winks probably has one also. Div I football should also. Yet the bullies don't want that because they are SCARED of losing a national championship game to a G5.

Bowl games (41 this year) are nothing more than participation trophys. Yeah, you won 6 games and should be rewarded for mediocrity. If you want to keep the bowl games, drop down to 20 or less and you have to have a minimum of 8 wins to get an invitation. But, eliminating them and having a true playoff system would be the best scenario.

16 teams, 10 conference representatives plus 6 at large using the polls to pick the highest rated remaining teams that did not win their conference championship.

Nope. Cajuns did have one of the worst in the country.
Warren Nolan shows Liberty at 121 and Cajuns at 128.
Flip flop them and it’s still bad. Nothing ironic about it. One team went undefeated with an awful schedule and one team went .500 with an awful schedule.

It thinks it’s the other way around. G5’s want to play P5’s for the money. G5’s would be shown to be exactly what they are in the current CFP situation. Nothing more than JV college programs. FSU was shown the door today because they wouldn’t be competitive against any of the other teams. Now image any G5.

Oregon is going to show why a G5 program (liberty) will never have a legitimate reason for playing for the national championship

Remove all the names and remove your preconceptions.

Without changing your schedule the two items below are true.

ANY team that runs the table weakens their schedule.

"Any" team that gets swept improves their schedule.

What about Tulane last year vs. USC or UCF vs. Auburn? Does never fit into you equation there? Never is a big word.

You don't understand the concept of "Fair and Square."

You would have denied Kurt Warners 9-7 Arizona Cardinals (Super Bowl) a spot in the playoffs by declaring "they wouldn’t be competitive."

Y'all are not thinking in the future. Yes, the G5 programs would probably be humiliated today, but in 5 years, with an honest all inclusive playoff system, you would see G5's making an impact, with a National championship win every 3-5 years.

Why you ask, because the big time players wouldn't have to go to the P5 programs for a chance to play in the national championship. They could stay closer to home and have family and friends come see them every home game. Also, it would be easier for the G5's to make it to the playoffs (if they were included in the playoff picture) than the P5's. Again, take the 10 Div I conference winners plus 6 at large.

So, you want to make it the playoff system, win your conference or cross your fingers and hope you get an at large bid out of the 6 remaining openings. G5's, in 5 years from now, IF THEY HAD A TRUE PLAYOFF SYSTEM, would be able to recruit better players, more local players. Promise you this would work. But, the P5's will never allow this to happen. So I say, the G5's should stop playing the P5's immediately. If I (G5) can't be included in post season playoffs, then you can't play me during the regular season. And you adjust your budget accordingly.

P5's can't exist without the G5's, but the G5's CAN exist without the P5's. They just have to put their foot down and make the break......break that cable....or umbilical cord and start playing like a big boy. As long as the bullies run the game, things will never change. But until G5's grow up and realize they really have the upper hand in this, the leverage, nothing will ever change, which is so sad.
