If you are going for practice at a driving range, don't. Will ruin your swing. But if you are going to drink and eat and just have fun with your family or buddies, it's a must do.

Heard they have reservations already booked out for a few months.
Lafayette loves shiny new things. Have y'all passed by the Chimes? Parking lot is always jammed up
Avid golfer here.
Pros
-Great way to introduce your kids to golf
-Something the whole family can do
-A/C bays make it a good option in July-Aug in Lafayette
-Fun drinking activity
Cons
-Expensive af
-WILL destroy your golf swing
-Having to schedule days before stinks
Overall, glad Lafayette has something new to do.
Any swing coach will tell you hitting off of turf is bad for your swing. Clubs that aren't fit to you and hitting off of a surface that doesn't provide correct feedback for your feel are both really bad things for your swing.
If you're a weekend warrior shooting 90 at your local muni, it probably doesn't matter. If you're a serious player trying to maintain a consistent swing, not great.
I’m a serious golfer. I’ve been to tg once in Dallas after the bowl game. Was drunk as hell. It’s fun, that’s about it. It’s about as golf as putt putt
This is top golf’s new concept. They basically have owned all the large markets in the US and have populated themselves everywhere possible. The new concept is for medium size markets of 100k -200k.
It is 2 story rather than 3 or 4 stories.
It is a brilliant idea and they will be opening these all over the country in the next few years.
It looks like the Lafayette location has 2 floors with 60 bays. The Baton Rouge location while it has 3 floors is around 70 bays (per Top Golf's website)
Not a huge difference in the amount of bays but the higher you are, the further you can hit the ball. Lol. Speaking as a non-golfer who has been to a few different TG locations
Most of their larger locations have 100+ bays. There are some smaller locations with only 30 bays
