Crazy that a basketball team loses a game. I should have known better than to open this pit of joyous self-congratulatory misery.

Our basketball program used to have great energy and student turnouts pre-Marlin. No excuses why we shouldn't be trying to get back to those days. I feel like we are not even trying. I moved back to Lafayette and had not attended a game for over 10+ years. I came back and attended my first game since probably 2005-2006 in a nice renovated Cajundome in 2018 but there was zero energy in the arena and enthusiasm around the program has been severely lacking.

What happened?

At this point I will bring my family for an exciting matchup like James Madison on Jan 4th., but those type of matchups seem to be few and far between in the Cajundome these days. Looking forward to that game and I hope we can get a great turnout similar to the Cajun Chicken one a year ago against Marshall. We added at least 2k to our normal attendance for that game.

Losing to a maybe decent Samford team by 20 should concern everyone about this team. They are severely flawed from a roster standpoint. More often than not, we will get destroyed on the road because all we can do on offense is shoot 3's. We have no ability to do anything else.
