Samford had 400 people at their last home game… No home court advantage for sure, def can steal a road dub…
Samford is 5 and 2. Went undefeated in a home MTE over the weekend. I thought they were decent when they came here a year ago. They won well over 20 games and finished near the top of their league. Craig and I preview this game as well as the La Tech game in more detail in our most recent podcast.
Samford's last game was over Thanksgiving break. No students on campus. I've watched a couple of games in the Pete Hanna Center, and it only holds about 2000-3000. Students and fans are close to the court...good atmosphere. That said, we don't get many more than 400 at our own home games...
I see us pulling away, but interestingly ESPN Analytics has us as significant underdogs.
We are playing Samford on road because we played them at home last year. It is a home and home deal with a D1 school. They are a private school with some resources so they are not a program which needs to come here for a payday. In fact they have paid for a few schools to go to their place.
