He only played 8 minutes in that game. His production and minutes have gone down each game. He is a bench warmer.

He left for the money. That's what he cares about. He got what he really wanted. $$$

With NIL, the only constant in college sports will be change.

    And an excuse for everything.

    This is true.

I agree, he did nothing and Memphis is a train wreck of a team...

This. He doesn't regret the decision because it was solely about getting paid.

As a UL diehard, this era sucks. But even 100-250k is life-changing in a sense that if you're financially disciplined enough, it's a hell of a head-start towards financial security.

It's life changing money, he and his kids are set regardless of what happens to his career.

Perhaps $100K -$200K is life changing money when you have none but paying mortgages off, paying for your own Health Insurance and trying to put money aside in a retirement investment, after paying taxes with eat up a good bit of that money up quickly.

Oh, that’s the next lawsuit down the road. Failure to teach “gullible youth” money management. That’s one of the gateways to student athletes becoming employees.

The whole thing (NIL & Portal) just makes me sick. I totally agree with others whom have posted it will be the death of amatuer sports (at least collegiate sports) IMO. I seriously feel sleazy even thinking of paying a college athlete to play a sport - I can't do it.

If you just look at what is being rumored; 17 football players being offered money to transfer to school XYZ. I know it is just a rumor but I can foresee it; and I don't blame the players. But this ruins any "team".

Also, look at the cost/benefit ratio. Jordan Brown was offered $100k (not known by me) to stay but accepted $250k (also not known by me) to SIT THE BENCH at Memphis. We just held a men's basketball NIL function that did very well and raised over $150k.

I'll call it the money pit; we will never raise enough money to keep our players. Will we need another "analyst" that is an accountant that places a value on each position and player?

Unless the rules change I can see my future as a college sports fan has an end in sight.

    It makes me sick.
Damn, it's like you took the thoughts right out of my head.
I can't stand it either, and I'm at the point where I just say, ____ this, it's not the college athletics I want to support. I'd rather fund my grandchildren's education funds than try to bribe spoiled athletes to play for my favorite teams. ____ that.
