So what was the deal with holy cross, should they have been one seed or not?
Can someone explain to me the difference between ‘select’ and ‘non select’ divisions? I know it has nothing to do with ‘public or private’. They should just make it all a combined class like they used to. Of course then you have to deal with the private schools that recruit and pay off refs.
Select allegedly recruit legally.
Non-Select are not allowed to recruit, i.e. cannot select their players
Also most historically public schools mandated who went there based on address, if a school uses that traditional method they are non-select, they don't select students from outside area nor do students select to go there.
The reason you see some "Public" schools included with the "Select" schools is because they also have the ability to "recruit" and have been doing so via Magnet Academies, Minority to Majority transfer's, using bogus addresses, etc... It is long past time to put everyone back together as the LHSAA successfully operated for decades before jealousy and wokeness screwed up the system.
