"Only kids we recruited" comes across as we don't want to do more work.

I agree that is, what is happening.

To MetryCajun's point, Louisiana can take advantage of this (albeit with more player movement) by starting off with 3-star players instead of 1 and 2-star players.

As long as the total roster limits remain, there is a new opportunity for Louisiana.

. . . you have already agreed that the ones we get with juice still left in them are poached . . . the ones who never had juice in them will never be productive . . . looks like all of the talent has been queezed out of the talent pool and we are left with what we are left . . . but the portal, the portal, the portal boss . . .

That is not what is happening.

The P5 is simply not going to replace the graduating 4-star, with an atrophic bench warming 3-star when they can poach a fully developed 2-star.

There is still talent to be found in the talent graveyard rejects, they just won't invest the time.

I gave you more to meet your eye and you still can't see the opportunity.

There are roster limitations, they can't keep everyone.

They aren't missing on these players, they are impatient, unwilling to develop players that have been waiting their time for upper classmen to move out of the system.

The attitude today is if you can't bump an upper classmen as a freshmen we don't want you.

. . . good chances are that if you can't bump anyone for playing time, they are not worth wanting . . . anywhere . . . and if they are, we may get one season with them and they are gone . . . it takes a crap load of one season players to fill a team . . . and we can only have 85 . . .

You are thinking from a defeatist point of view.

First: Why would a school start a raw 3-star over a proven, experienced, 4-star and two other 4-star players ahead of them? They won't, they never will, so why sign with them in the first place.

I have been using the term "Talent Graveyard" for two decades because that is exactly what they are.

Now add the influx of proven 2-stars to their transfer roles and you have a unique situation of available 3-stars from high school and (raw) 3-star players being spit out the straw.

It takes work and a willingness to recruit players you thought you had no chance at when they were in high school.

. . . maybe after 20 years, you should consider allowing the "Talent Graveyard" to RIP in the graveyard . . . surely you would not be the only one to recognize this as a viable concept over a period of 20 years . . .

Package the massive Jennings DT teammate that hit portal 2 days agoTrevor Etienne is Florida's 15th portal so far.

I stopped counting.Has to be well over 100 FBS RBs in portal now. Even more WR. Crazy #'s.
