Payout is larger in Texas if they want UL. Is the NO Bowl during the day this year, if it's not no way will I attend.

Less champions square hours as well?

A billion dollar payout looks good on paper but you will never reap the full benifits if you don't sell the tickets.

So wait, we don't get the bowl payout unless we sell our allotment of tickets? Am I understanding that correctly?

You dont have to sell your allotment, but you only get what you sell.

Uh, yeah. And even if we do sell out, the money goes to the SBC, less allowable expenses. Been that way since UL was the first program to make out like a bandit with the NOLA bowl.

The SBC uses any “profit” to offset losses experienced by othe SBC bowl teams.

Well, it'll be a lot closer to the full payout with 12/14 SBC teams going to bowls.

    Good catch.

    This year is different.

But the trick is minimal travel. If a belt team other than Texas State gets sent west, that’s a huge hit.

Personally I’m expecting JMU in New Orleans.
