A few years ago UConn recieved what was billed as a $13 million New Years Day bowl game.

They lost money because that was the value placed on the tickets, and they didn't sell many.

Their conference received the full payout. They had to pay off their ticket allotment, which was 2.9 mil.

The payout is the payout. It goes to the conference. In 2011, UL had a huge payday. In 2012, they changed it to where payout goes to conference and offsets any bowl losses for other schools.

Ticket money varies by bowl. Some give you a certain percentage. Some give you a certain percentage over X no. of tickets sold.

Is bowl revenue shared with all conference members? If so, with 12 of 14 schools in bowl games, members should fare pretty well overall, yes?

In SBC, all income to the conference, including bowl revenue, is put in the general distribution pot and distributed evenly among the members.
