Thread: 2023-11-28 Happy as a lark on a Monday

  1. UL Football 2023-11-28 Happy as a lark on a Monday

I never understood why a former quarterback was coaching Tight Ends.

    It was what it was.

I just wanted to see signs that a former quarterback could design an offense for a QB that could complete 70% of its passes.

Excuse me for setting my sights too low.

Saturday zoomed pass 70% didn't stop at 80% and ended up settling on 90% completion percentage for Louisiana's Cajun Fields.

Coaching TE's is the entry level position for coaches getting on board. This is not meant to be a knock, it's true.

    I’m happy because:

    1 God is good
    2 UL is going bowling
    3 Certain programs are not
4 And the gift that keeps on giving, El Aye Tech, is getting freaking Delaware as a future conference mate. I’m sure that’s going over well with what’s left of their fan base.

Wow double whammy, not moving up and an increase in travel expenses

El aye Tech recruited Delaware because the blue hens clucked out a tight victory over Lafayette (Leopards), can't make this stuff up

Delaware? Sounds like another good home and home opportunity for us /s

Don't knock Delaware. Their budget is around 42 million. Their endowment is 1.8 billion.

Besides Liberty, Delaware will be the best addition CUSA has made since they lost all of their schools.

At some point, they will be an expansion target of both the SBC and AAC.

    You're right. I don't know what they'll do athletically...

...but I would be happy to poach them from C-USA just for their academics.

And I would avoid Liberty, too many scandals, too much an imposter school.

Judy heading back to the CDOA model...travel costs be damned, we want them.

Slowly the old FCS group are all moving up. Watch in about 10 years, SBC East makes a move en mass and picks up a few CDOA easterners.

He was a WR coach before coming here. Then TE when he went back after here. He was also a conference champion as a head coach with a few semifinal appearances. Hud had a very nice resume when he was hired.
