I'm wondering where any of you have seen that James Madison is eligible for a bowl game.

Logic would suggest that if they were eligible for a bowl they would also be eligible for the championship. Perhaps they get an exemption if not enough teams reach the magic number six wins.

According to this article they can bowl if not enough teams get bowl eligible.

There are 78 teams at 6 wins not including JMU and Jax st. Army or navy will get to 6. Cal and Colorado state are playing games now to get to 6. So if they both win plus army/navy you’re at 81. There are 82 slots. So one team will bowl. Either JMU, Jax state, or the highest apr 5-7 team.

Good news is all 6 win teams will bowl. I was worried if 6-6 got left out that a belt team could get the shaft, possibly Cajuns. Anyway doesn’t matter now. Also if JMU does get that bowl slot you’ll have 12 belt teams bowling.

If my above math is correct it might not matter. But according to rumors Cal could take the Indy bowl slot from us. So we’d get some other g5 6-6 I guess instead of Texas Tech. Come on bruins.

BTW 12 belt teams bowling would be a record for 1 conference. Go figure it would be the belt to do it first.

You’re also correct about Cal and us. Don’t recall what mattered for JMU probably just not enough being bowl eligible

I really don’t care if anyone from DOA CUSA bowls. That’s just how I feel.

I would not be surprised to see JMU paired up with a SBCW team they didn’t play. That would suck.

They will all get in because there are less than 82 teams nationwide who went 6-6 or better.

The Cajuns qualified getting 6 wins against 6 schools who had a combined 22 wins and 44 losses. Do we really deserve to go to a bowl game?
