My question was more about longevity.....
Numerous coaches at our skool have had their children play for them....
- stokley
- bustle
- robichaux
- hud
- lotief
I'm sure many others, just was curious. If you would like to post if that is good or bad, please do, I am neutral and wasnt not asking that, but have noticed it.
And usually it seems to be towards the end of their tenure.
Name me another coach who played the schedules he did and won 6 or 7 games a year. He played schedules at times that looked like he was in the Big 12 or SEC. The games he won were against Tulsa, Memphis, ECU, Colorado St and other very good mid majors. I stand by my statement.
I agree. If Stokley played the schedule that Hud and Napier played we’d be talking about multiple conference championships right now. No doubt.
It makes me wonder if Stokley coached in today's era if we would be far ahead as a football program especially with the financial support and commitment we have now as opposed to when he coached in the 1980's and '90's.
He had to scrap for any financial help he could get. He recruited to awful facilities. And he played against the likes of Alabama, Oklahoma State, Memphis, and Tulane while STILL producing winning records. It's very impressive what he was able to accomplish with basically no help from the school whatsoever.
