I wonder if Dome will become even more difficult to work with once we drop the TicketMaster account. No idea if this is accurate but I have been told some of those TicketMaster fees go to the Dome.
At the beginning of last season, the odds of us going to the tournament 2 consecutive years was approximately one half of one percent. At this stage, you throw out what happened last year in a statistics perspective. Therefore we are back at 7 percent. That alone makes it understandable why some are skeptical we can win the tournament again. Still it illustrates why pre conference is to prepare for conference, conference season is to attempt to get a top four seed, and tournament time is when people want to be playing at their peak.
At this point, I hope they do become more difficult to work with. Anything that forces this issue is good. Between the scheduling problems and the concession contract problems, it is time for UL to move on.
I know Martin Hall has kicked the tires on this more than once. It is time to start strategizing this for real.
When I was researching Ticketmaster fees months ago when I posted a screenshot of Ticketmaster fees, I ultimately found out that fees vary from venue to venue and that Ticketmaster works with the venue to implement fees.
No doubt the Cajundome is using the Ticketmaster fees as life support.
The only reason Blackham is still standing is the rodeo. No cost for the foundation.
The best thing for Blackham would be for the demo crew to just come down Cajundome Boulevard when they finish at CF.
How bad? For starters at one time you only needed the naked eye to see the ground on the east side was higher than the thresholds of the building.
Forget renovation. The level of the floor of the building is the biggest issue. Many a time we left wading thru water in the concourse. Building was built before elevation requirements existed. Yes, it appears to be on a crest, but it’s not. The property drains to the corner, but the building is in the path.
