That’s what I am hoping for too! Then Cajun Field will be the crown jewel of the SBC. Or at least be on par with the nicest stadiums in the SBC.

Ive been to a few newer stadiums with the 25-30k capacity, like Troy and South Al... I like it! You feel so much closer to the game and if we only get 20-25k per game, it wont look or feel so empty.

There will only be around 25k actual seats, but on paper capacity will be around 30k (accounting for seating on the grass berm.)

    25k is perfect for us.

    1. The entire west side, not just the upper deck, will be brand new. Aisles will be wider, and all seats will either be chairs or bench back.

    2. A lot of thought was put into concessions. A large % of the concessions will be self-serve. The hope is that this will significantly speed up the process and alleviate staffing issues.

The focus was on improving the fan experience for everyone — not just the big shots. If attendance sucks after this opens, it’s because we suck. This university is investing heavily in you and your experience. You can thank them by buying season tickets and showing up to games.
How do self serve concessions work? I can’t help imagine lots of vending machines.

Looks beautiful. Can't wait for a more intimate crowd in the lower bowl.

You can spot the temporary press box if you look at the founders suite rendering on the website.

I’m with Zepplin on this one. Improving game day experience will help keep the fans we currently have that attend.

But make no mistake, this university absolutely sucks the biggest one when it comes to cultivating and developing new fans. So a small base falls squarely on the shoulders of the administrators of this university. I’m not just talking about the AD’s office either.

On a positive note, I don’t think they could’ve done any better than this. It’s fantastic.

If it's like the self serve at Alex Box, it will be like a mini convenience store with some fridges for beers/drinks, and stuff like chips and whatnot. You pay for it yourself at a POS. There is usually one attendant there making sure no one is stealing.

Yeah, I’m not seeing any place in the upper section for the current UD1-2 sections, so I guess we would be at the top of the lower bowl? That would be fine w/me. Esp if the seats are mid-field. I care nothing about the suite amenities…just want a good seat.

Already blaming the fanbase and the damn thing isn't yet knocked over..

No, if attendance sucks after this thing opens it's indicative of a decades long problem with this University of p!ss!ng off fans and burning bridges with the community.

Attendance will be fine for the first year or so. Lafayette loves a shiny new toy. The question is, can you keep them coming back by fielding a competitive football team..

Lots of positives in these renderings. Hope it works out the way it's supposed to.
