I think he had to do some savvy public speaking maneuver on the fly. He said, "lastly...I need to thank..." and got choked up. I think every in the room knew he was going to thank his family/wife (as he has done in the past), but I think he had an oh ____ moment and forgot to thank First Horizon, so he thanked them instead.

Jerry Prejean is a good dude, but I don't think you get choked up thanking him.

One thing I like about the new stadium for general seating (it may be hard to convey this thought) is by entering the complex before assending to one's seat will automatically have an enclusive feel, compared to always being outside (never inside) climbing to the top of the levee, and then descending or climbing some more.

"I'm here" will begin much sooner.

I may be off on this but I think it will have a completely different feel besides just new.

Perhaps he did not want to take any attention away from the West. Just didn't seem like the time and place. I will nitpick at decisions made by the admin, but not on that.

Having the event be invite only certainly made it seem like a celebration for that group and not a rallying moment for the community. Problem is in 2 years when the West side is finished, it’s the community we are gonna be asking to fill it.

No, the east side will be leveled just like the west side. It's going to be very nice and compliment the west side well.

Well it is Louisiana...... sometimes keeping things quite is a good idea.

And to my recollection the University has never said anything official regarding the East side. For the most part it has been leaked info or public records such as the budget.
