I think if Des has Napiers success along with the raises and bonuses that comes with that he would be perfectly content right here. He is at home making more money than he ever dreamed of when he got into the coaching profession at his high school alma mater and then later Accession Episcopal.

Remind us what Napier was paid in year 1 plus incentives and how that changed in years 2 & 3 based on his success.

The political people I know have said that wouldn't have moved the needle at all. But maybe there's something I'm not seeing here.

PolItIcIans only care about decIisIons how It impacts theIr legacy. Her name forever attached to the hiring of the first AA head FB D1 coach in Louisiana. Wasn't a vote getting move, simply patronizing long term political capital.

People get mad that we have partnered with Marlin for so long. Can you imagine a football coach for 18 years? And not one that was winning at really any impressive consistency?

In 18 years and in 2 different conferences, Stockstill won only 1 conference championship and that was in his first year and in the SunBelt back when it was still the worst G5 league.

MTSU won their division once in the 11 years they were in C-USA.

Overall, his record was 113-111.
