You must not remember but MAT posted this already on other threads in the past. Why would I need to re post something that someone else already posted? I was actually told about it a few days later as I was out of town. GTFO with that stupid take of yours.

I can unequivocally state MAT did not post about it at the time.

If he had, I could have saved myself 20 posts about no search being done.

In my 20 posts about no search, I was not corrected once. Not by MAT, Not by you. By no one.

Disinformation can't straddle a crack that wide.

. . . there are lots of words in this post that I never did say . . . but that is how you guys operate . . . all I said was a decision was made to hire CMD . . . I announced it here as soon as the decision was made . . . many did not believe it and many had a fit about it . . . now it appears that many of the reasons why that was the decision are coming out and again many who know nothing are having fits . . . its how this board works . . .

. . . don't fool yourselves, if this in fact happened, and these two were targeted/interviewed, it is most certain that the interview revealed that we were not even close in the ballpark of acceptable salaries for that quality and experience of coach and it is prime evidence that there was no coach that would have been revealed in a further search which would have been acceptable to the talking heads on this board and that would have come to Louisiana for $750,000 . . . CMD then became our guy . . . the only guy . . . reality is always much different than made up stuff . . .

You continually push this, "750k was all we could afford", "750k was our max budget", narrative as if it's fact. Have your bird fly over some receipts for us to see.

I know me and MAT have sources that said he was on campus and those sources I believe. You can debate that if you want. You can't debate MAT posted this on this site. No I am not going to do research, etc to prove you wrong. One of the board trolls probably commented on his post and then poof you probably had to remove numerous post.

For the record 3.1 million was offered to Billy to stay. Any idiot that is saying all UL could afford was $750K is out of their mind.

The two coaches who have had the most success here were both coordinators/assistants for P5 schools and brought with them a network of connections that helped with assistant coaches and recruiting. Both of them also started here at around the same money as Des.

The difference is Des has experience as a tight end coach and has very few connections outside of this area. AND we paid him what we had established would be enough to bring in a qualified candidate for a bigger program.

And yes.. if that coach turned in two more 1 or 2 loss seasons, he'd be drawing outside interest as well...

So let's bury our heads in the sand and accept mediocrity because the alternative is that our successful program would be looking for our third coach in 10 years

Anyone who does any bare minimum research can put together a list of more qualified candidates who would have come here for 750k or less. That narrative is an excuse used by idiots.
