Shows the gap most programs have against the top money programs, including most of the PAC 12, can’t fill. 76 mil to go away AND also pay for the new guy. Stupid crazy money.

They don’t have to worry about it, it’s not their money.

If this was the business world and you just lost your company $76-100 million, you would be fired immediately. The admins who make these decisions hardly ever feel the repercussions.

Interesting that we talk about how little we paid for a head coach while schools like Texas A&M and Michigan State grossly overpaid for a coach and get the same results. No one knows what to expect when a coach is hired. Napier was a guess as well. He was fired by Alabama and Clemson and rebuilt himself to an OC at Arizona State when we hired him. He turned out great for our program, but who knew when he was hired. Des will get another year. IMO, he needs to appoint an OC and relieve himself of those duties and free himself up to be a head coach. After 3 years under Napier and 2 years as HC, he should be prepared for year 3. And, I think he needs to find another DC as most of our losses have been moreso due to defense not offense.

You can't let the offense off that easily. Neither side has helped the other this season. They both seem to struggle at the same time. I.E. the Georgia State game comes to mind in the first half. We are so young on the offensive side of the ball its been a learning curve and some of the play calling hasn't really helped. Both have been inconsistent but the defense, at times during the season, has looked way better than anything the offense has.

I'm more concerned about recruiting. With Napier's players rotating out of the program, Des has to show he can recruit the same caliber player which I'm doubtful that he can.

Wasn't Des doing most of the recruiting for Napier? The recruiting isn't the problem, the problem is once they get on campus the coaches struggle to coach them up.
