This thread has become so chaotic. It's hilarious.
Posters who think UL can be major college football program. Posters who think that a long way off. Posters who think UL wants nothing more than to be the best version of itself. Posters who think UL wants to be like other schools. Posters who think UL doesn't compare itself to P5 schools. Posters who directly compare UL to P5 schools.
If you're saying people shouldn't aspire to maximize what we have here, you're part of the problem. If we're not utilizing athletics properly, shut the damn doors. Stop asking people for their loyalty, financial support and commitment, and then shaming them when you p|ss it down the drain because of laziness or lack of care.
Here's the question: What is UL's ceiling?
Why do you care enough to be on a message board of a team you aren’t a fan of asking their fans what the ceiling is? Isn’t that weird?
How about this Benevolent One: you tell us what the ceiling is. After all you are experiencing on all things UL, despite being admittedly ignorant on almost every topic of discussion.
If you'd prefer, I can log off and leave RP to the select few loyalists like yourself. Kind of like last night's football game that featured approximately 158 people in the stands.
Otherwise, if you'll permit me to have an opinion, I think the ceiling is a one-loss season where the one loss comes to a P5 opponent and UL finishes in the Top 25. That's the absolute max. More realistically, UL could consistently finish with 2 or so losses and make it to a mediocre bowl. I do not foresee a situation in which UL is ever invited to a P5 conference, and if they are, they will consistently finish with a .500 record.
