Very true, but plugging holes would have been simple if not for Jordan bailing.

Sometimes though, when the pieces fit together perfectly, it's best to stay away from a situation with too many moving parts.

Unfortunately planning is out the window and "too many moving parts" are now the norm.

Every year some will strike lightning but they won't be able to bottle it.
All this may be true, but we're all assuming it was ONLY the money. Wether people want to believe it or not. There was/is def a faction of players that didn't want to play for Marlin. Seeing our top players leaving for smaller schools (and knowing a little inside info) we know this is true. So, maybe for Brown, more a combination of wanting out AND getting a chance to play at a higher level and money.

Jordan recently spoke to some Cajun players. He definitely regrets leaving the Cajuns and going to Memphis. The money situation is one thing. Word is he did not get what he was supposedly offered. Other mistake was going to a school where their system does not fit his skill set.

Mature enough to admit. Good for him.

This decision was on his dad.

Hindsight, though. Regardless of how it went down, I still don't think you can convince a top-level player that trying to suit up for Memphis is the wrong decision.
Why not? They are a trainwreck. They consistently underperform even with the boatload of talent they get. That talent often doesn't stay very long and that could be saying something.
