Authement HATED having to sign off on athletic scholarships every year. Have that on pretty damn close authority, not some BS "source" like others here claim at times. Though I am sure some others here do know that for fact as well.
He would even put it off at times, "too busy", until he had to.
Never understood the lack of attendance for game day. Home games should be the focal point for the surrounding area and especially for the students! It's embarrassing to see the band spread out in the stands to take up more space. Back in the late 80's/early 90's we'd put more people in the seats than today and the teams weren't especially great back then!
Wow. Can't believe that was at prez level....
Also with all the various SCOTUS rulings regarding college admissions I am really surprised no student that didn't get in to a certain college has never sued if their spot went to a preferred walk-on who didn't have the equivalent academic credentials
Authement set very low limits of what could be approved at Deans level even requiring sign off on all expense accounts. Today much broader approval once budget is set. Problem is in very tight budget control run by a former legislator and way too many sign offs requiring long delays. Thanks to former admin.
