Contrary to what some think on this board, a heavy promotion was done on campus this week for students, staff and faculty alike. There have been promos in the Advocate and on all Social Media platforms, multiple automated email notices and ticket reminders. Students got a half day. Not sure what else can be done except putting people on street corners. I was on campus for an hour+ last night and saw not a thing about a game this Thursday.

Posts on social media AND automated email reminders? Stand down gentlemen. The marketing powerhouses have entered the building.

Lazy and out of touch with the potential fanbase. They absolutely should have been on the street corners since the last home game promotion this game with huge discounts and freebies.

Marketing in this town should be like someone running for political office. People here like the personal interactions. Mass emails that people send to the trash bin isn’t it.

If you think this is a "heavy promotion," I hope you're no where near the marketing team or sales force.

If they spent money on anything in the advocate, they're even more incompetent than I thought. Social media blasts should certainly be part of the strategy, but they are relied upon to do all of the heavy lifting. Huge mistake. I've been through campus multiple times this week. I've seen nothing outside of the digital billboard announcement at Blackham. The students themselves are saying there is a large part of the student body that is totally oblivious to the game tonight. Are they making that up?

People don't show up for MANY reasons, very few of which are their own fault.

Posting on social media and sending out emails is basically reaching out to the BASE, not potential customers.
