This was substantially revised and improved in 1535 by Pierre Robert Olivétan. This Bible, in turn, became the basis of the first French Catholic Bible, published at Leuven in 1550

That is interesting but I'm not sure why you asked. The topic was how long Cajuns have been in the Americas.

You do bring out a good point though, in the big picture, many people don't realize how short a period of time the King James Version has been around and how much the English language has changed since then.

I'd like to see how much the French language has changed in the same 400 year period.

I bet its not just Cajun French that is different.

So none of the cajuns would have brought a French bible along? Also the first group mentioned as being in America at that time may have been french, but were they already cajun? Or did the acadiens/cajuns not arrive until after the grand derangement?

Translations of Bibles change pretty often lately. Mostly adding pronouns to include the feminine or collective gender in a Biblical manner.
