Like I said, I think they put too much attention and emphasis on us. They should have played a normal game against UL, and saved their energy for GA Southern and JMU.

    JMHO.

So they should have gone easy on us?

    That’s a dumb statement.

Classic thread derailed posting an OT thread without labeling it as such

    Love him!!!!

    2 things.....
I don't know who GaSt plays next week.......whoever they are, they gonna lose.

No chance....0%....that 100% of GaSt coaching staff is returning next year. No fire to win today = no job.

    How this relates to us?
Des has to make some tough calls this off season.

Well, Elliot passionately hung the loss on everyone, including himself.

Lack of fire/desire buttx whoopings usually are a failure by all.

Difference between our two efforts? GaSt was the decisive underdog yesterday.....we were 9 pt favorites. Yet.....GaSt coach seems a hell of a lot more ____edoff about losing.

I always thought Elliot was a little over the top, but that rant made me wish he were our coach. He really seemed angry, not because they lost, but because of the lack of "fire" his team showed. I guess it is not in Dez's DNA to be so animated, but he needs to somehow get the message across that the effort we saw on Saturday is not acceptable. I normally do not criticize the players or coaches much, but it was obvious on Saturday that ASU was ready to play, and the Cajuns were not. Dez needs to do some soul searching. If you get beat by a superior team and put out your best effort, you should tip your hat to the other team and move ahead. In this case I do not believe that is what happened.

You may have missed my original post in another thread. GA State changed schemes for us, they did things in the game that they had not shown in the film from previous games. That means they put extra effort into beating us. And if they put in extra time in scouting and planning, then whether the coaches intended it or not, their players got the signal that our game was more important than previous games. And in a way, more important than their future games.

No, they should not have gone easy on us. They beat us, good on them. But it's a campaign, and they won the battle but it may have cost them the war. They should have stuck to their system for us, prepared as they prepared every week, and played their best against us. They might have won anyway.

Any extra effort, in either strategy and/or intensity, should have been invested in one or both of the next two games against their instate rival, and against the division and conference leader.

I am not arguing for us. In a way, I am arguing for them. I think it was a strategic blunder, they over-invested against us. And over-investing one week typically leads to a letdown the next.

    Again, strategic mistake. IMHO.

He left blame for the fans out.... They only had 15k in attendance for an undefeated team coming to town...
