Thread: Bookstore prices

    Support Bookstore prices

Excuse the constant UL Lafayettes and the student-level writing.

    This is insanity.

There should be fairly affordable school clothes for the students on campus to go along with the nice stuff.

Letting a third party manage it would be great they said

Similar to the ticketmaster ____ it is inflating the costs way beyond what they should be

It’s a great deal for UL’s pocket book, not for UL’s students and fans.

Probably not, at those prices they’re selling very few things.

If it's anything like Ticket Master, the school is treading water on this deal.

    But hey! No work.

I was looking for the UL 125 coffee mugs I saw on Instagram that they had at Downtown Alive. My wife and I went to the Bookstore in The Union but couldn't find them, we asked a staff member, and the staff member said they are still in the trailer used for Downtown Alive. We decided to pick up a key chain, two coffee mugs and two blankets, $100 + later, we walked out. I agree the prices are high, especially for students, who we hope become supporters when they graduate.

I have a kid at usm and another at msu, The UL posts for what they do for students on campus is night and day compared to what i see at other schools usm does give the students lots of swag compared to msu, and UL traditionally gives away a lot of swag to the students. So yes they should have lower priced options, but I see lower priced options when I go to the store on Johnston St.

    Doesn’t matter.

This deal is similar to the Learfield deal with athletics. UL gets paid regardless.

Sounds shortsighted. Get that quick paycheck but distance ourselves even further from our students.

I was in school for the last year of Bustle and the first 3 years of Hud. It was really cool to see that switch flip from hardly any gear on campus to it being covered in bowls shirts, etc. Sad to see us going back in the wrong direction. I'm on campus for about an hour once a week. It honestly looks like our students can't afford our gear because I don't see much of it.
