Yes. Their ranking now is based on not having many guys back from last year. Portal was kind to Youngstown in off season.

Coach Marlin has not said a word to me about the Youngstown State team. I researched their roster when Craig and I prepared for our podcast which focused on our non-conference schedule. That was back in late summer. That is how I know they brought in transfers. I also read where they are considered a leader in the NIL game for schools in that area. Granted that may be a football basis. Just because I believe they will be a tough opponent in no way indicates I don't believe the Cajuns have a chance to be victorious on Monday night. As often happens at our level, the team most effective in the three point game will likely be the winner.

Youngstown is a VERY quality opponent. They lost a bunch but brought in a ton. They have plenty to give in the NIL space if my limited intel is correct. To me this is one of the premier mid-major match-ups on opening night. Looking forward to basketball season!!

I won't make a prediction either way. I will say Youngstown will provide a very tough opening opponent. We will need to shoot threes at a fairly accurate clip (may need to make 10 and be around 40 percent) and limit our turnovers to be successful. They have brought in some quality transfers. Should be a very good and exciting game.

Geez Mike. Both of those stats would be well above what we shot as a team last year. I hope this isn't necessary to beat an OK mid major or we could be in for trouble.
