  1. UL Soccer Soccer: Gritty Effort Falls Short For Cajuns In SBC Championships, 2-1

Olivia Wright scored a first-half goal and Mady Soumare added the eventual game-winner in the 72nd minute as No. 8-seeded Texas State held off a gritty performance by the ninth-seeded Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns, earning a 2-1 victory in the first round of the Sun Belt Conference Championships on Monday at the Foley Sports Tourism Complex.

8 of 10 shots on goal. Definitely played better than the first time the two teams met. Unfortunately, quickly home again.

Good to see the team made the tournament for the first time since 2021 with the previous staff.

Now time to win a tournament game like the 2019 & 2020 teams.

Gosh, what a high bar UL has. Win a conference tournament game. It is laughable outside of softball, Title IX programs are there only because they have to be.

Before someone starts the "all the talent we have in Louisiana" cry, here is a good sample size of female players that signed to play at the next level. Pay attention what the next level is and how many go to a real D1 soccer power.
