The mindset of making a bowl and that being good enough should change. We have a path to the playoff. A pretty easy path, if I’m being honest. The only way to accomplish that is to win the SBC.

If we aren’t demanding that we are in contention to win the SBC as fans we are failing. The amount of revenue and respect that reaching the CFP on a consistent basis would bring is unreal.

So we jacked around and blew 2 games we should’ve won. So now we have to win every remaining game on the schedule to play for a SBC title.

So if we lose, this game the conference race is over. I don’t know how clear I can be, playing in the SBC title game every single year is my expectation for this program. If we fail to do so the season doesn’t meet my expectations.

GaSt. was by no means some guaranteed win. They are like 6-2. ODU we should have won.

Our goal should always be to win the conference or the west, but to say the season is over if we don’t is just silly. A winning season and a bowl game is better than like 98% of Cajun football seasons ever.

That is not due to being so much better than our history, because we're not that much better. That is due to there being a lot less Bowl games available and a lot tougher schedules back then. The Bowl explosion really only happened in the last couple of decades.

These days, all you have to do is have a non-losing record and you are nearly guaranteed a Bowl. That is an award for having an average season. You start with 1 win from the FCS game. All you have to do is have a winning record IN CONFERENCE and you're probably Bowling.

Bowl games and winning records are not markers of a great season.

Not being in a Bowl game IS a marker of a terrible season.

Bowl games are the floor of an acceptable season. They should never be the goal. If we are competing, we will make a Bowl anyway. Conference Championships should be The Goal.

We should never be Happy that we are in a Bowl game. It is just an opportunity to get more work in for next season and get some free crap.

The teams stAte has beaten have a combined 5 wins on the season. 3/4 teams with a pulse that they played beat them by 30+. Im not expecting any surprises from the Red Wolves. Only things we find out today are how focused we were this week and if we respond as well to success as we did to adversity.
