Taking the flow of the season into consideration, yesterday became a "BIG game."
Watching the replay of the 1st TD. Pretty funny: USA linebacker thought Bernard didn’t come up with the ball and does the stupid seat belt celebration that guys do constantly now.
Yes it is when the loser is basically out of the west race and winner still alive. Especially when your opponent just beat their last 2 opponents 110 - 10 combined. I witnessed the team and coaches get off the bus the look on their face is all I needed to see to know how big this game was to them. It was the biggest game going in all of the belt yesterday.
So, Troy beat Texas State who now has 2 losses and one of them to us. South Alabama now has 2 losses and one of them to us. South Alabama plays Troy on Thursday night. We need South Alabama to beat Troy to give Troy 2 losses. Assuming we beat Ark State, S. Miss and ULM, we will still need to beat Troy to win the West. Even if Troy beats South Alabama, our beating Troy gives them 2 losses with a loss to us. We will have then beaten all contenders and will be Western Division champs. So, yes beating South Alabama was a big game.
. . . we control our destiny . . .
Yesterday’s game was massive.
