Lafayette Catholic Service Centers puts on "Dimes for the Diner" each year to raise money for those in need-- but this time it is bigger than ever.
You can help-- just by eating out.
With more people needing help than ever before, and a new food service center in the works the fundraiser for St. Joseph's Diner is crucial.
Volunteer Dee Shaw, who brings goes to St. Joseph's to get food for several low-income seniors, says she loves helping those in need.
"It makes me feel good to do it, and it makes the people I take it to feel good too," she says.
The "Dimes for the Diner" event is put on by Lafayette Catholic Service Centers.
Restaurants around Acadiana are giving 10% of their profits on Thursday, April 8th, to the Diner.
The Diner serves meals and gives bread and canned goods to the hungry, and will have a new location opening next month.
To help out all you have to do is eat out at one of the participating restaurants:
