Louisiana defense needs to start faster vs USA

We gave up those 20 points in the first and dug ourselves into a hole because the offense was horrible. Thankfully we got it together after halftime and some of that was helped due to the absence of their QB for a while but had we started better, we may have been able to keep that deficit smaller.

Very true but they were on pace to give up 40 which is why I think the headline said, "start faster."

"Start faster" is, misleading though, the defense did start fast with a shutout in the first quarter.

We've been outscored 43-14 in the first half of the last two games. It doesn't look like anyone did their part on either side of the football.

Correct and this was where I was going in my rebuttal. Sure, we shut them out in the second half but we got torched in the first half giving up over 100 yards to their back and letting them control the clock in the process. They did their part in the second half but only after getting us behind the 8 ball in the first.
