So here is the news I am getting on this ... Chriss told Des after the season "I’m committed to winning a championship here coach."

As someone mentioned agents/middlemen are shopping kids to programs, in this case unbeknownst to ZC, and then contact them or the family with an offer from a program or two or three. In this case, it appears the offer is too good to pass up. I personally believe it is a bottom-tier P5 program like a Houston or Baylor, although Baylor landed Toledo's QB in the portal.

The speculation I got on the offer was a minimum of $500k. I seriously don't know how someone leaves that on the table. I really like ZC as a QB, but don't think he is a NFL-caliber player.

I am really curious to see where he lands and if he starts next season.

My understanding is Baylor reached out during the season and UCF is on him now. I don't know the other programs of interest, but he was offered more NIL money than any other football athlete currently on the roster and he turned it down.

I listened to coaches from the SEC and Big 12 talk about their signing classes and almost all universally mentioned it's about managing your roster from year-to-year and having a vision about what your roster needs to look like, then finding replacements. It's very much like an NFL Genera Manager now. Coach Des won't survive long term without going to the transfer portal to replace immediate losses. He simply can just sign HS and JC athletes, and wait for their development.

Gap between the haves and have nots will continue to grow until/if something is done. I do not see what that could be though. I get that people have been crying the death of college sports but we are getting closer.

I have been told from a very good source Lunch has a really difficult time in the throwing game at this level. He may turn out to be more of a Dion Ray type.

I had a conversation with Chandler in the Marriott after the game on Saturday and after the turn of events yesterday, I would not be surprised if he returned here next year. Heck he has already proven he can win the job against the people that will be in the room next year, unless Beal is the next up and coming Jake Delhomme.

Our future will be with guys like Wooldridge and Fields rather than Chriss and Lunch.

Lunch is an elite athlete....he will be fine.

Ben is a solid QB, we are blessed to have him in the QB room next year.

Beale HS highlights give me deja vu of Jake Delhomme. Has both the skills with the leadership intangibles.
