My understanding is Baylor reached out during the season and UCF is on him now. I don't know the other programs of interest, but he was offered more NIL money than any other football athlete currently on the roster and he turned it down.
I listened to coaches from the SEC and Big 12 talk about their signing classes and almost all universally mentioned it's about managing your roster from year-to-year and having a vision about what your roster needs to look like, then finding replacements. It's very much like an NFL Genera Manager now. Coach Des won't survive long term without going to the transfer portal to replace immediate losses. He simply can just sign HS and JC athletes, and wait for their development.
