I hate it, but I don't blame him. That said, the whole system sucks unless you're at the top of the food chain, and realistically, we never will be, so our lot in life is to be a feeder for bigger programs until the system becomes regulated. Personally, that makes it a lot easier to watch from my couch and not get attached.

Under this business model, our best bet is to raid rosters of lower schools (top FCS, etc) and find the top sophomores and juniors every single year. Annual roster turnover with up and coming talent is the only way to success.

214 guys get their names called every spring plus UFAs and compensation picks. Just based on that, odds are Chriss never sees the NFL.

I’m not even bothering looking at who Des recruited and signed. Bottom line, any coach misses two out of three years with classes, he’s playing catch up at best.

If Chriss was a all conference QB hitting the portal I'd be more upset. This year 3 of the 4 Heisman finalist were transfer QB's. As someone pointed out, lots of skill position players in the portal so get a good QB wanting to come here. There's probably dozens to choose from and let's forget about what's his name.

I don’t get attached to players ! I get attached to teams. It is what it is you can’t be attached to players.

I am fan of the school not the players. I understand how fans can get attached to players. Even as a coach you can’t be to attached to players you can care without getting attached. At the end of the day you gotta do what you got to do to be successful no matter the circumstances.

Bird in hand and all, hope he and his shopping agency got the 500k in hand before putting his name in the transfer portal. Some of these kids are getting taken advantage of with promises of x and barely getting y. Better start signing legally binding contracts.
