I agree totally with this. My question is do we have a coach who is willing to manipulate the system to our advantage? Or, do we wait patiently for our high school recruits to bloom and prosper? I would think the more successful programs in the G5 moving forward will be those with a healthy mix of high school recruits and transfers/juco. Cause I agree with you; you can't change the system.

I firmly believe Zeon stays and finishes his college career here......in stunning fashion.
Under this business model, our best bet is to raid rosters of lower schools (top FCS, etc) and find the top sophomores and juniors every single year. Annual roster turnover with up and coming talent is the only way to success.
The key is to have a good mix of transfers and recruits. Work the system.
How many kids sign with P5 schools that never even touch the field. They have been misevaluated, never got to prove what they got because they never will see the field.
Say hey look transfer to our school and we will give you a fair shake at WR, QB, OT, C whatever.
