Louisiana Campus App State plans 1,850 new beds in response to demand for on-campus student housing

I'm sure football welcome mat at App had nothing to do with this.....

And that last paragraph....Compared with the traditional construction process, public-private partnerships can achieve significant cost savings on large projects due to a streamlined agreement with one developer. The recent construction of four new residence halls on the west side of campus was estimated to have saved the university at least $70 million.

Which is why UL used that model to build ours. Dr. Autrement believed only the state should build dorms. Glad T-Joe disagreed.

Unfortunately we still have the state overseeing with silly and time strangling rules.

Why not consider adding dorms to the west side of Cajun Field as I think all of the improvements will be on the East side. This could be athletic dorms on the athletic campus and open to other students. The university is growing and will always need additional dorms. Get the state to pay for that in addition to what they are contributing towards the stadium renovations.

I like the idea of dorms as part of the new west tower at Cajun Field. And another great place (that is currently really under-used) would be on St Mary, catty-corner to Olde Tyme, on the site where the old Charity was located. This is what the master plan called for. It could be a mixed-use type deal, with retail on the first floor, and apartments above it. It is ideally located in close proximity to both the main campus, as well as the new Health Sciences buildings (in the former OLOL MOB’s). There could be buses to the athletic campus, or even better, an elevated tram when we win the lottery.

The Health Science Center soon to be named after a huge donor.

They were also given a step by step blue print on student involvement from App St people and discarded it.

I’ll remain skeptical until proven otherwise. Cajun fans are Charlie Brown and the admin is Lucy

…..Didn’t we a few years back get a new housing area by the Cajun store and fire station?
