Oof. Poor take. But wild to think that a fcs school had an opportunity to make a national impact more so than the Cajuns.

If college football was all major college football, there would be only one championship for all college football.
    . . . and which one does Louisiana play in . . .

. . . wait, wait, wait . . . you are not being consistent . . . so, let's quit playing around and take the LSU schedule and tell us which games are playing major college football and which ones are not . . . I believe we will find out a lot if anyone would dare to go there, but you are all scared . . .

    Division 1 FBS is correct.

G5 is not an official term used by the offiical regulating agency that decides levels of college football.

So, if one were to ask what is considered "major college football", one would be forced to say that would be D1 FBS as it is the highest level of play recognized by law.

Sometimes, people like to use BCS/CFP history as a measuring stick for levels of play for schools and conferences. This is wrong.

There is a national champion recognized by the NCAA in every level of college football except D1 FBS. The reason is that there is no playoff format approved for FBS by the NCAA. No champion is ever determined.

The BCS/CFP have always been invitational tournaments. Participation lists of these tourneys are useless to determine what is "major" because half of FBS schools are not even invited to participate.

The NCAA also doesn’t recognize the term mid-major, but is used in everyday conversation.
