Lots of talk about all the fumbles in the first half of the year. Fumbles are mental mistakes caused by lack of focus on the small details. I don’t recall Billy’s teams fumbling much at all. It is all about the process. Everything is done for a reason.

I don't know what came first the chicken or the egg but there was a series of NFL quality hands in that bunch.

So was Terry Robiski. He was famous for fumbling. A high school running back that runs a 4.9 can learn to hold onto the ball. It’s about mental and not about physical ability.

Did they keep stats for college fumbles back then?

You are right though, 6 fumbles in 31 games is high for the Pro ranks

According to Coach, the issue with the fumbles is mechanics from each of the guys. He sees the same thing from D-Wash and ZP on each of the fumbles, it is dropping the elbow that is causing this. They have been working on it to correct these issues. I think, personally it is youth. Kibodi has not had any issues, but he is much more experienced than both D-Wash and ZP. I am confident this will get corrected.

Nice way of saying they are not paying attention to detail.

Terry Robiskie slept in the dorms under strict watch and key.

They all did back then. Even in the 80 and early 90s they all had to live in the conference center with a curfew during the season. Since the abolishment of the athletic dorm the freshman live in dorms with the general population and the upperclassmen have rent houses and apartments all over Lafayette. Which would mean no more curfew.

Good to know fumbles are not related to where you sleep.
