Great point, agree.... but the point is not all of the blame can be 100pct placed at the ncaa's feet. I'm fine with the rule, but I always just like looking for loopholes as well, lol.
Technically the rule has to do with transfers not sitting out when they went from fbs to fcs and lower admittance standards in fcs, so it could be argued the ban should be four years as some of those players could still be there. Although in this case I wager jmu has tougher admittance standards than many other g5 and with the portal and no sitting out anyway that part should have been moot
Also the ulm 2005 scenario had other variables that this case does not have
Wasn't implying it is a mirror situation, just that this is still the Sunbelt, so don't hold your breath on them opening a door for JMU.
Then again when the SBC stole Louisiana's Championship it was a rush to protect the SBC reputation following UNT's embarrassment.
This case enhances the SBC rep.
