Can't you see something wrong with the notion that if UL wants to have self-confidence in its brand, it needs to effectively own the entire state, to chase out all other universities that might pose a branding threat, to distance themselves from the name of its own mascot, and to even avoid the letter U?

I efforted incorporating the U a few years back.

Fans nixed it because they saw Miami.

I think if you have the “U” interlocking with the state you might have something that won’t look so much like Miami

The block L is a throwback logo.. they brought it back 5 or 6 years ago for baseball

The idea thay they are suddenly threatened by us in the branding office is laughable

I am not against them diluting their brand.

I am not a fan of a stand alone L for Louisiana.

Is the hand L on their forehead a throwback also?

so when they break out throw back uniforms from what their logos were in the past it is great and we should adopt it, but when we do it we are giving up our branding efforts completely and knowing out place?

I never said bringing back the vintage stuff was giving up on branding personally I think it’s cool!! Good marketing strategy.

We have not done everything in our power to become known as Louisiana. We are very much lacking in that department .

These are good. I have messed with it countless times. Me personally needs to have some type of border to make it pop and stand out.

Also we have incorporated the FDL in all that we do, we have to go back and change all the FDL that we have on our current stuff.

Wonder how you got the top two helmets because you made them blend in nicely. Wish I can take the logos and put those with the top two helmets

I don't think its an asset but fans love it and it does make a great map marker.

you say this as we literally put the state on everything we put out, and put "LOUISIANA" all over everything. you are trying to actively say that "L" would be a better representation for louisiana than "Louisiana" or the state outline would be. think about that.

is symbol that represent the University. Can we put Louisiana on baseball caps, helmets, t-shirts etc.

Okay I don’t know how else to explain this. We have to have a symbol look at Oklahoma, Kentucky, Oklahoma State, Mississippi State, Arizona, Maryland etc.

They have a symbol that represents them. To come full circle we have to have a symbol to say who are.

Look at Oregon, they did the big O and that was a game changer, look at Illinois and Nevada. Are you following what I am putting down ?
