Because UL is currently unrelatable to the older generations who loved the Bulldogs, and the "Ragin Cajuns" thing isn't sticking with the younger generations. Y'all always say you want to create some tradition. Go back to the good old days.

Catahoula has always been the best choice for many, many reasons, but I think pulling the trigger on a new mascot just isn't going to happen. The best path forward is to embrace our past and move on. Got no problem with that.

IMO, the best choice is the Gator for the Swamp on campus and football stadium. Louis and Ana personify the name of the university. What can be better than that?
