Same. A+ for me. Including the roll out.

Looking at the selections, I can see what the fuss was about. Some of that stuff is really great. I’ve wanted a USL logo shirt for a while. That’s what I remember seeing when I was a kid.

Is this really the big announcement today? We finally get the LOUISIANA recognition we need, then revert to marketing the directional school name we had. It may be nostalgic, but it is something we worked hard for and waited a long time to get rid of. Now it is back. We keep the Southwestern name on the Earl K. Long gym and now the Southwestern gear and announced by UL Lafayette. This is exactly what the rest of the state wants to refer to us. Sorry, but I don't get it.

I'm with you on this. I like the vintage look, but the USL merch should be excluded. SLI is far enough removed time and name-wise.

This! 100%. Nothing should ever say USL, Southwestern, or anything directional again. Seems like we can't get out of our own way and celebrate LOUISIANA.

I'm not gonna say this was a bad idea, but........I have questions.

We would like script Cajuns back as the primary logo on the helmet. Nope.

We would like the band to play traditional songs more and the DJ to go away. Nope.

We would like more Louisiana branded merchandise. Nope.

Instead, we get some really cool options that will deepen our name struggle, promote mascot confusion and make our detractors really happy.

    Why?

Nearly every single college in the United States right now has a vintage apparel line. We didn't. Now we do. We're not taking a step back in branding. We're taking a step forward in generating revenue with our brands (plural).

There's an entire third party merchandiser named Homefield that specializes in vintage apparel cashing in on the trend.

    Understand.

Now, how many other FBS schools out there have the name/mascot/brand confusion that we do? Will this help or hurt that? Does it even matter anymore?

The reason our merchandise sales have been terible wasn't because we didn't have enough usl stuff out there. It is because we have failed in and marketing and providing Louisiana stuff.

Most people are like me. We will not buy ANYTHING with lafayette, ull, or flames. This is our problem. It's funny. To avoid those things we may have to buy usl stuff.
