One of the coolest video advertisements I ever saw for Louisiana, was a group of college kids playing Cajuns music in a four piece band, with Dr. Savoie on the triangle.

Then they kicked Grammy Award winning students, The Pine Leaf Boys, off of campus for playing their music midday. That’s how retarded we are.

This is my question.

Does this university offer courses in Cajun French? If not, why not? Promoting Cajun Culture should be part of the mission statement of the university. It should be a prime directive. Once the Culture is completely gone, so does the identity of this university.

We can hire outsiders, who embrace the local culture. We did this with Dr. Maggard, Nic Yantko, and Coach Hud. We need the nation’s best to move this train.

Ok. One game you complain about who the band is. I’m not one to hang by the stage except for the pep rally with the marching band. Typically the band is something of the zydeco type. I know it was for Buffalo. Coming in the near future is Rouge Krewe all ex Cajun POA members. Homecoming is typically someone above average.

I am still waiting for your answer as to what should they do to embrace the culture that would get more people in the stands. I like the idea just curious as to the answer.
