I was of the opinion we needed to make as much as we could from the tailgating and parking. But I was wrong. We should look at tailgating like Costco looks at their cheap hotdog meal. Use it to create the desire to be there and then work on getting people into the game itself. Tailgating prices should be drastically reduced and advertised heavily as such.

Been saying this since 2016. But they bet big on tailgating price hikes over raising ticket prices around the time the alden report came out. Obviously a huge swing and miss.

The best value option for buying tickets to the games (in any sport) is thru season tickets. You are basically bundling a season's worth of tickets to get a better price. The problem is, the age group they need to be targeting, just can't use season tickets anymore. Families with kids have dance, soccer, festivals, etc that keep them from going to every game.. So what do they do? They give those tickets away when they can't attend. So their seat is filled, but we haven't added anyone new to the stadium.

Why not take this 'bundling' concept to a single game approach?

Charge $200 for a tailgate spot and 8 tickets. It encourages people to invite people to their tailgate to spread the cost around and make it cheaper for everyone. Maybe you end up with 12 people at your TG, and they either buy or get their hands on some extra tickets.. That's 4 more people in the stadium. 12 popcorns, 12 sodas, 12 beers.. 6 kids spending all day playing with their friends in the parking lot, before going inside to play on the hill. 6 parents standing around in great weather, sipping beers, listening to music, running into people they haven't seen in forever.. Sounds eerily familiar to Festival *INSERT ANY NAME HERE* that they have no problem getting people to go to

(Re)building our crowds starts with rebuilding tailgating. It needs to be a must go to party. Bring band(S), food trucks, a beer garden, cheap or free spots, cheap or free parking. Advertise it like crazy. Get off the damn frat’s back. Build the party. “Festival Cajuns” every game day. Then have people walking around selling cheap GA tickets.

Back then I only pulled against them one time a year even with my uncle coaching and older cousin playing I still pulled for the Big Red.

Yes! Pictures of area 1,2, 3 are.

My 4th area is a way to get kids and women, and men involved and engaged and making it a family oriented event !

Which if you have say a Dad and a Child that is 2 if you have the whole family join in that could be up to 5 or 6.

How hard is it to get a fun jump, set up areas where kids can make big giant bubbles.

I mean elementary schools do this for field day. We as a University can not do this for a college football game ?

Let's talk about the crowd. Rather than blame everyone why don't we each try to bring one or two new fans each game.

We had a friend (Univ of Florida graduate) from St Pete, FL visiting us this weekend. Wife and I took him to his first Cajuns game and he had a blast. Can't tell you how many times he said, "First time, but not the last time." He got to meet Maggard who was standing out front of the Tigue and I can't tell you how pumped up he was to meet the AD.

We went to the alumni tent and had all you can eat/drink gumbo, cracklins, pickled quail eggs, and beer. Can't tell you how many times he said it was the best $15 he ever spent.

He did comment about the tailgating area being pretty empty. I explained the cost associated with a tailgating spot and he laughed. His exact words, "Are you kidding me? I've never heard of prices like that, even at SEC schools. Who would pay that much and then have to haul all the tents, food, ice chests, set up tents, cook, etc. when you can pay $15 to get unlimited everything in the Alumi tent?'
