and with his ties and recruiting of Louisiana he will do just fine at UNT. Sad that he can't be back at UL. uhhh.

It's going to be sad to watch UNT stay relevant in the G5 world while we waddle in the mud with ULM and Latech. Bad decisions have bad consequences. Looking at you Dr Maggard and T-Joe.

UNT is solely on hook. Florida didn’t have an offset clause in the contract.

It would be nice if we went back to a time when if you made a million dollars or more in salary you should have to wear a suit and tie and also for that money you went by a more formal name for ex. william or bill, than a nickname sounding name ending in a y.

Well they also gave him a raise to head coach salary for no reason. (As did we for des) cant they just use "other duties as assigned" to increase duties under an existing contract, like the rest of the working planet

If Lane takes the LSU or Florida job, it will be hilarious if once again in 3-4 years they will be firing him and paying another large buyout. odds show that is very possible.

Also, for Billy and all fired bag money P4 coaches. If I am them, I take my bag and coach at the G6 level. Good salary and already have my millions made in the bank from the P4 school.
All you have to do is make bowl games and you have a job forever. Hell you don't even have to win them it seems.

I cannot understand a coach getting incentives for making a bowl game when only requires a 6-6 record. Over half the FBS teams qualify. Meh gets paid.

Incentivize 7+regular season wins on a gradual scale for starters.

Legacy baggage from when FB seasons were 11 games long (pre 2006) and there were half the bowls there are now.

Just anther example of programs running on auto pilot.
