Some definitely are but there is a wide range in NIL payments . Same applies to UDFA's but not to the same extent

Florida has fired coach Billy Napier with the Gators off to a 3-4 start this season, a source told ESPN amid multiple reports.

Napier, 46, finishes his time at Florida with a 22-23 record in four seasons.

Not surprised. The big $$$ boosters at Florida wanted him gone. Billy will be fine. He will coach again and of course has that $20 million buyout.

Wish we could hire him back. Maybe he alone could buyout Des ?

Do you think the results would be similar to his first stint?

Probably not, answer is "No"! Billy had way more resources, ($$$, larger staff, and didn't have to worry as much about his players bailing out on him and transferring out as Mike does here at UL). Things were a lot different when Billy was here. He didn't have to worry about the NIL Deals and the Transfer Portal.

So? Billy's main attributes were his ability to recruit and attract talent here as well as hire good staff. He made some great hires, particularly on the defensive side of the ball that allowed us to be able to compete with bigger schools. I agree that I don't particularly like his playcalling either but he was able to build something here.
