If you can't keep them you can still reap them.

Here is the question that has to be asked and the decision that has to be made: Will a totally green first year freshmen outperform a seasoned, coached up fourth year D3 or FCS player?

If you are going to lose them after a year or two either way, you might as well go after the one that has the most immediate impact even if they are peaking.

What if you just coach up your players in practice, keep the risjng upperclassmen on the bench, play the true freshman and clear them out each year. Then every fourth year bring in some extra "stars" with those seniors that have been gelling getting their chance?

I totally agree about Levi. The literal key to Napier’s success here, IMO.

Hopefully Napier shared a little of that money bag he got with Levi.

So Napier was lucky, Des is unlucky. Got it.

Napier was a great organizer. Had great talent. Got preposterously lucky on several occasions to win games he should not have and had very few key injuries to deal with.

Will be interesting to see what he does at JMU.

Louisiana is the farthest thing from Florida's mind.

Louisiana was a "Stepping-Stone" for Billy Napier! On to Florida, exits as a multi-multi- millionaire in less than 4 years! Going to JMU with a very attractive deal and will be happier and probably successful there, (hopefully not though!).

He will suck at JMU because he won’t have Levi Lewis and he will be the same old bad coach he was at UL and Florida

you see, Napier is highly unlikely to ever accidentally run into (because he can’t even take the credit recruiting Levi or much of the talent on his teams) a Levi Lewis quality QB - Napier will never find one like Levi again - Levi was an above average QB generally however the positive qualities which he possessed were of the type needed to bail Napier out of Napier’s particular type coaching deficiencies - QB’s who were probably much better than Levi were not able to do that for Napier at Florida . . . It was a very strange dichotomy and I doubt it will ever happen again for Napier - suck or blow . . .
