Correct Cajun Vic. Billy Napier did not invent College Football as some here on this site think! If was a God, why was he booted from Florida? For failing to meet expectations. A winner in the SEC!

Napier will fail miserably at JMU.

He has always been a terrible OC, bailed out by his staff and the talent they found.

Yes, better than 0 for 4. Many teams have that.

Who cares, we weren’t going to fire Des and hire Napier.

The man is a great coach who just landed in the best situation in the SBC.

The reality for most G5 schools since the financial flood gates are open for the bigger P4 schools is that 1 in 4 years of success is a great feat and most likely the pattern. It is far harder to build continued success on a yearly basis since the landscape has changed and our best players get plucked yearly. We will have play younger guys each year rather than develop kids for 4 years and retain like Napier was able to do. Now we develop 2 and our best are poached. Hate to say it but that is the biggest difference of when Napier was here. Des gets the same level of talent, he just cant keep them as long and build an elite veteran team.

Napier was a great organizer. Had great talent. Got preposterously lucky on several occasions to win games he should not have and had very few key injuries to deal with.

Will be interesting to see what he does at JMU.

If you can't keep them you can still reap them.

Here is the question that has to be asked and the decision that has to be made: Will a totally green first year freshmen outperform a seasoned, coached up fourth year D3 or FCS player?

If you are going to lose them after a year or two either way, you might as well go after the one that has the most immediate impact even if they are peaking.

Very close, very doable with very few adjustments. Moments and real time decisions you can point to.

An experienced QB would have made all the difference in spite of other shortcomings.
I don't believe that at all. Come on Turbine, that's just wishful thinking.

Levi Lewis was one of the most underrated players ever to be a Cajun. Rarely got sacked and did not turn the ball over. Also, got the Cajuns into right run plays with decisions at line. Coach Napier would be the first to admit that Levi was a big part of his success.

I totally agree about Levi. The literal key to Napier’s success here, IMO.
